Municipal Policy Researcher and Analyst - Climate Voting Records Toronto

Are you passionate about climate action and Toronto’s municipal politics? Do you have a knack for policy analysis and City Council processes? We are looking for a dedicated Municipal Policy Researcher and Analyst to join our Climate Voting Records Toronto team!

What You’ll Do:

As a Municipal Policy Researcher and Analyst,  you will play a crucial role in our work. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting in-depth research on City Council and committee meeting agendas and minutes.
  • Identifying and analyzing motions and policies with a direct impact on Toronto’s climate goals (e.g., TransformTO Net Zero Strategy).
  • Documenting and tracking individual councillor votes on specific climate-related items.

This is a fantastic opportunity to use your skills for a high-impact, community-based initiative. We will also provide training on how to navigate the Toronto Meeting Management Information System (TMMIS). If you are a student, recent graduate, or professional looking to contribute to a meaningful project and gain hands-on experience in public policy, we want to hear from you!

Additional information:

Climate Voting Records Toronto is an independent website that tracks the climate-related voting records of Toronto city councillors. The website provides information to members of the public – now and at election time – enabling voters to gauge the climate and environmental stance of their mayor and councillors. It may also be a resource for climate groups looking to do related research.

This website is an initiative of ClimateFast – a volunteer-based, grassroots community group, dedicated to building strong, informed public pressure to take urgent, substantial, and just action on our climate crisis in Toronto.

We are grateful to be here together to share and to care for the land – Chi Miigwetch.
