BUILDING A PEOPLE-FIRST CITY

Uniting for a Sustainable, Equitable Toronto

The Sustainable Urban Form (SUF) cluster is a dedicated team of volunteers within the Green Neighbours Network, working to build a Toronto that puts people first. We’re everyday citizens—bringing together diverse skills, knowledge, and passion—united by a shared vision for a more sustainable and equitable city.

What Does it Mean to be a People-first City?

A people-first city is designed to serve the needs of all its citizens through policy advocacy and the built form, considering the minutiae of everyday life that we all share.

Our Goals

We believe in the power of a strong network—bringing together those who are building a more sustainable and equitable Toronto. By amplifying the various works of the collective, we can expedite the process of creating a people-first city.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We respectfully acknowledge this land and the history of the many Indigenous peoples who have lived here for millennia. The meeting place of Toronto - from the Kanienʼkéha (Mohawk) word Tkaronto - remains the home of many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island. We are grateful to be here together to share and to care for the land – Chi Miigwetch.
