We’ve been looking forward to this moment: a dedicated space where GNN members can swap ideas, ask questions, and spark conversations that fuel grassroots climate action across Toronto. Welcome to the GNN Member Forum!

Why a Forum?

Our community overflows with creativity, know‑how, and real‑world experience—but until now, we lacked a central spot to connect outside of events and email threads. The Member Forum changes all that, offering a secure, easy‑to‑use hub where you can reach fellow changemakers any time, from anywhere.

Forum, Topic, Thread: What’s the Difference?

If you’re new to online forums, here’s a quick breakdown to help you get started:

  • Forum: Think of a forum as a room dedicated to a specific theme—like “Sustainable Living” or “GNN Events & Networking.” It’s where related conversations live.
  • Topic: Within each forum, you’ll find topics. These are the individual conversations or questions started by members.
  • Thread: A thread is the full conversation within a topic—starting with the original post and including all the replies that follow.

As a registered member, you can create new topics and reply to existing threads.
However, only the forum administrator can create new forums to keep things organized and relevant. If you have an idea for a new forum category you’d like to see, let us know! Just send us a note at webmaster@gnntoronto.ca and we’ll be happy to consider it.

What You Can Do

Think of the forum as your virtual community centre. A few ways to jump in:

  • Ask for advice on planning events, starting a community garden, or applying for grants
  • Share resources like toolkits, funding opportunities, and helpful links
  • Find collaborators for joint projects or meet neighbours tackling similar issues
  • Promote your events and invite others to join
  • Post or explore volunteer opportunities across the network
  • Start meaningful conversations about climate action, urban ecology, equity, and more

We’ve created a few starter forums to get things rolling—and we’ll refine them as the community grows.

Access is open to registered GNN individual members. This keeps discussions focused, secure, and full of shared purpose. Not a member yet? Sign up in minutes (it’s free!) and jump right in.
