GNN’s website now includes a feature that gives member group admins more control over their online presence.

From adding volunteer opportunities and refreshing your group description to uploading a new cover photo or managing members, you’re now in control. It’s all part of our effort to make the platform more flexible, empowering, and collaborative for our grassroots community.

What You Can Now Do

Our calendar is built to bring Toronto’s grassroots climate network closer together. It’s:

  • Easy to Use & DIY– Submit your event in just a few clicks.
  • Seamless – Listings blend right into our website’s look and feel.
  • Community‑Focused – Reach more people who care about local action.
  • Mobile‑Friendly – Browse and submit on any device.
  • All in One Place – A single hub for workshops, meet‑ups, info sessions, and more.

As a group admin, you’ll find new options under the Manage tab on your group’s page:

  • Update Your Group Description
Share who you are, what you do, and why it matters.
  • List Volunteer Opportunities
Show how others can get involved and support your work.
  • Change Your Group Profile Photo and Cover Image
Personalize your group’s page with a fresh, visual identity.
  • Manage Group Members
    • Remove inactive members
    • Promote others to admin or moderator
    • Ban users, if needed, to maintain a safe, welcoming space

This new capability is part of our broader goal: to make the GNN platform more responsive, empowering, and community-led. When group admins have the tools to update and share what matters, we all benefit from more timely, relevant, and inspiring stories across the network.

Let’s keep growing—together. 💚
