What Our Individual Members Are Saying…

GNN is a fun group of action-oriented people! I’ve learned so much about Toronto, the environment, and the Canadian culture while volunteering here! [One of my most meaningful experiences volunteering was] being a small part of EcoFair 2020, where we pulled off a month-long event like no corporate could even! It was meaningful because it showed me the power of volunteering. Together we can make a difference!

The community is very positive and provides a nice balance of volunteer opportunities that aren’t overwhelming. Everyone is always ready to lend a helping hand. I feel that I am making a difference when providing newsletter content for the readers. It demonstrates that you can still support environmental events and showcase news even online during the pandemic.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We respectfully acknowledge this land and the history of the many Indigenous peoples who have lived here for millennia. The meeting place of Toronto - from the Kanienʼkéha (Mohawk) word Tkaronto - remains the home of many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island. We are grateful to be here together to share and to care for the land – Chi Miigwetch.
