Description

We are a community climate action group concentrated around Bloordale, Bloorcourt, Little Portugal and Ossington. In the face of the climate crisis, we believe environmental leadership is needed at all levels and community leadership is critical to change.

We work to engage local businesses and residents to Reduce Waste Together, focused on reducing plastic and packaging waste by allowing customers to use their own reusable bags and containers (BYO). We also engage in advocacy for climate justice.

We are members of the Toronto Climate Action Network (TCAN) and the Green Neighbours Network (GNN).

Tell us what green issues you’re interested in tackling in the neighbourhood, or if you’d like to join our Reducing Waste project team! Send us an email at hellogreenwave@gmail.com for more information or sign up for our newsletter to stay informed.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We respectfully acknowledge this land and the history of the many Indigenous peoples who have lived here for millennia. The meeting place of Toronto - from the Kanienʼkéha (Mohawk) word Tkaronto - remains the home of many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island. We are grateful to be here together to share and to care for the land – Chi Miigwetch.
