Eglinton-Lawrence for Climate Action (ELCA) is a non-profit group of residents of Eglinton-Lawrence riding dedicated to increasing awareness of the need for climate action in the community and at all levels of government.

As a grassroots community group we aim to help ourselves and fellow residents learn about climate issues, particularly:

  • reducing waste in all sectors – food, garbage, non-essential goods
  • improving transit and active transportation
  • expanding renewable energy sources
  • increasing green spaces and opportunities for people to enjoy time in green spaces

We aim to build a local network of informed residents engaged in lobbying for climate action in our riding and beyond.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We respectfully acknowledge this land and the history of the many Indigenous peoples who have lived here for millennia. The meeting place of Toronto - from the Kanienʼkéha (Mohawk) word Tkaronto - remains the home of many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island. We are grateful to be here together to share and to care for the land – Chi Miigwetch.
