Fires, floods, heat waves, systems collapse…

Climate change, in combination with other social and ecological crises, is already causing havoc in our world. While the focus of the environmental movement has been on stopping the problem, we now have to face the impacts now, and those on the way.

While these challenges seem insurmountable, there are many tangible ways that people are working together in their communities to adapt to and prepare for climate change.

This is the first in a series of workshops that will provide an introduction to climate adaptation, social resilience, and how to make a change at the local level. The workshops will be grounded in real-life stories of climate resilience from those who have been through it, and the lessons they can share. Come connect with like-minded people and join a network of others working to make a difference.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We respectfully acknowledge this land and the history of the many Indigenous peoples who have lived here for millennia. The meeting place of Toronto - from the Kanienʼkéha (Mohawk) word Tkaronto - remains the home of many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island. We are grateful to be here together to share and to care for the land – Chi Miigwetch.
